The day before Thanksgiving, Kenny and I decided to ride our bikes 100 miles. It was the most amazing ride of my life! The map of our route... Photobucket The first 25 miles down the river path was directly into the Santana Winds. It was like trying to ride up a really tall mountain and never being able to see the end. My bike is ready to go. Photobucket Kenny had to make his bike look nice first. Photobucket Both bikes, ready to go! Photobucket The gear. Photobucket First stop, down the street to Mothers for some nutritional lunch and energy. Photobucket Photobucket The plan was to leave by 10 at the latest. This was our actual leave time. Photobucket Many dead ends. This is one of them.(I only took one picture of our dead ends because they all tend to look the same. Photobucket We got pizza before we hit Corona. Photobucket We saw this sign and laughed. It turns out in Chino, their road signs don't lie. A few miles of rough roads sucks! Photobucket Dinner... Photobucket Halfwayish. It was getting dark already. We planned to be home by that time. Photobucket Kenny broke a spoke. Photobucket From the top of a hill in nowhere land. Photobucket Another of the many stop/meals we had. Photobucket Kennys bike compute was a little slow. Photobucket 15 hours? 7 1/2 hours ride time, 7 1/2 hours stop time. Maybe we stopped too much... Photobucket Amazing ride, I wish I took more pictures. We planned to be home by sunset, but we almost made it home after sunrise. We stopped way too many times to count so that we could eat. I ate so much on this ride, I gained a few pounds. About midnight or so we ran into a closed road at the top of a hill. We ventured though and it was cool. Soon we will ride 100 miles again, but quicker.
